Corner showers are becoming more popular in bathroom renovations. There are fewer restrictions when it comes to placement and design for showers than ever before. If you are the kind of person that prefers to have a stand-alone shower facility, a corner shower could be what you're looking for.
When you are looking to renovate or redesign a bathroom it can be difficult to get the right balance between what you want to see, what you can afford and what is practical given the limitations of the room. People are generally shower or bath users. If there is more than one person living in the dwelling you will more than likely have people with preferences for both.
People who prefer showers generally like their shower to be a stand-alone fixture. It can be cumbersome and awkward having a shower over the bath, usually because the bath is raised and you have to step into the bath.

This has caused some difficulty in the past, as it can be difficult to find the space to incorporate both a shower and bath into a small bathroom. Corner shower units have greatly reduced the potential problems with installing both fixtures in a bathroom.
Space Savings
While it obviously still requires floor space to install both a shower and bath, corner shower units can actually save some valuable space. By taking in the corner area the unit doesn't need to take up as much room as an ordinary shower. The units do not protrude far into the room and occupy a space that is otherwise ineffectively used.
Easy Access
Corner shower units are very easy to enter and exit. Unlike traditional square shower units, corner shower units have doors located at the front of the fixture that faces into the middle of the room. There is a small step in required due to the base of the unit, but this is nothing like stepping into a bath.
Additional Features
There is a wide range of corner shower units on the market today. Many of these include features that are not incorporated into contemporary shower design. These include shower seats, customized storage compartments and mirrors. Due to the construction methods of these units many of these features are built into the shower.
Depending on where you shop, you could find a corner shower unit at around the same price as the more common square shower. If you were considering a unit with more features you would expect the costs to be more. Having said this, a corner shower with the additional features means you do not have to find somewhere else to store those items.
With the technology and manufacturing ability of today there is no such thing as an ordinary shower. If you want to get the most out of your bathroom perhaps you should consider installing a corner shower. They are an ideal way to make use of an area in the bathroom that is often difficult to use effectively. Due to their space saving features, corner showers are becoming more popular with home renovators.
