Tile installation involves the following activities:

- Start with measuring and properly marking out the area to be tiled.
- Spread the first layer of cement mastic on the surface.
- Apply a underlayer which will act as a base for the tile.
- Follow it up with applying cement adhesive to the back of the tile and positioning the tile.
- Place the other tiles lining them up in straight lines and tap them gently (with the trowel handle) to set them firmly onto the adhesive base.
- After the adhesive dries, apply grout to fill the gaps between tiles.
- Finish off with applying a sealer.

Tile setting is nothing less an art form. The artistry of this art form resides in the symmetry, evenness of the work. The corners and edges particularly demand minutest observation. You will also be required to chip and shape tiles as part of this job and this calls for attentiveness and patience. A little artistic sense, a little imaginative power is also helpful for ceramic tilesetter jobs.

A tile setter, in addition, performs many lesser activities that have some impact on tile setting and décor. And if you decide to carry out the ceramic tilesetter jobs on your own, you will have to take care of all these aspects – right from preparing estimates of the required tiles, grout, sealants and other materials to determining the total expenses to be incurred in the whole procedure to selecting tiles etc., etc. You can, of course, seek expert advice but then for the most part your home décor will be on your own.

So, go ahead with ceramic tilesetter jobs and create your abode of dreams by adding flavor to it in the form special effects with the ceramic tiles.
